Am I current? Flight review, passenger and IFR currency.

Enter the dates you know and see the last day you are current for each, under 14 CFR 61.56 and 61.57. Nothing you type leaves your browser.

Or the practical test, phase of WINGS, or new rating that counts as one.

How each date is worked out

Flight review (61.56). It must be completed within the preceding 24 calendar months, so it runs to the last day of the 24th month after the month you flew it. A review on 5 October 2024 is good through 31 October 2026.

Passengers by day (61.57(a)). Three takeoffs and landings within the preceding 90 days in the same category and class. We count the day of the oldest landing as day one, which is the conservative reading: landings on 1 January carry passengers through 31 March.

Passengers at night (61.57(b)). The same 90 days, but the three landings must be to a full stop, between one hour after sunset and one hour before sunrise.

Instrument (61.57(c) and (d)). Six approaches, holding procedures and intercepting and tracking courses within the 6 calendar months before the month of the flight. If that lapses you have six more calendar months to catch up with a safety pilot, an instructor or an approved device. After that, only an instrument proficiency check restores it.

Medical certificate duration is not here because it depends on the class, your age and the operation. It is one of the things Volo tracks for each student.

Questions

Does a checkride count as a flight review?
Yes. Passing a practical test for a certificate, rating or operating privilege in the preceding 24 calendar months satisfies 61.56, as does completing a phase of the FAA WINGS program.
Do touch-and-goes count for night currency?
No. 61.57(b) requires the three landings at night to be to a full stop. Touch-and-goes count for day currency in an airplane that is not tailwheel.
Is a tailwheel different?
Yes. To carry passengers in a tailwheel airplane, the three landings must be to a full stop, by day as well as by night.
I am past the IFR grace period. What now?
You need an instrument proficiency check with an authorized instructor or examiner before you act as pilot in command under IFR again.

A planning aid, not legal advice. The regulations, your aircraft's records and your instructor or mechanic have the final word.
